How exactly would this work?
Dana would pick up your financial documents (e.g. bills, receipts, bank statements, etc.), usually once a month depending on the volume of your business. Depending on which services you select, she would then enter the data into an accounting software program, reconcile your bank and credit card statements, schedule payment for bills through online banking, prepare invoices for clients, follow up with clients who have overdue balances, prepare financial statements and analysis, and file any sales or payroll taxes. The documents would then be returned to you at the next “exchange” unless you need them sooner.

Which accounting software program do you use, and would I need to buy it?
Most financial information is maintained in Quickbooks Pro, and a small portion maintained in Microsoft Excel. There would be no need for you to purchase Quickbooks, as all the reports sent to you would have been exported into an Excel or pdf format.

Do you do income taxes?
In an effort to provide their clients with the highest level of bookkeeping services throughout the year, DH Accounting Services does not handle income tax preparation. However, Dana will work directly with your CPA in order to provide them with any reports and supporting detail needed to aid them in the preparation of your taxes.

How would my financial information be protected?
All files containing the financial information of your business or project would be password-protected. The files are backed up to an external hard drive once a week and to a jump drive bi-weekly. The jump drive is kept in a fireproof, water-resistant safe to protect it from any unforeseen disasters.

Would I need to sign a contract?
A one-page agreement would need to be signed in order to have a record of the services and rate agreed upon, but it can be canceled with 30 days notice. Also in the agreement, the client agrees to provide the requested information and documentation in a timely manner, and DH Accounting Services agrees to keep the information strictly confidential.
